World Lecture Hall: Religious Studies: The World Lecture Hall (WLH) contains links to pages created by faculty worldwide who are using the Web to deliver class materials. This page contains links to sites created by scholars teaching about issues related to religion. A variety of topics/religions are addressed. (Compiled by the University of Texas, Austin.)

Worlds of Late Antiquity: This is a home page for miscellaneous materials relating to the culture of the Mediterranean world in late antiquity (roughly 200-700 C.E.)." (Created by a professor of comparative religion at Penn State.)

Baha'i

Bahá'í World: Bahá'í World is the official web site of the Baha'i International Community. It is an excellent resource for Baha'i beliefs, history, and presence in the world today.

Bahá'í Faith: The Bahá'í World is the official site representing the U.S. Bahá'í Faith on the World Wide Web. It is a comprehensive, informative and attractive web site designed for the individual wishing to acquire a basic, introductory view of the world's newest religion. Provides some links and assorted information.

Australian Capital Territory Baha'i Community: This home page is devoted to providing an introduction to the Baha'i Faith and the Baha'i Community and provides information on it teachings, history and character. The page includes articles introducing the prophets of the Baha'i Faith: Baha'u'llah and the Bab.....This page also includes links to other ACT Baha'i Community World Wide Web pages.

Baha'i Prayers: Contains Baha'i prayers from every occasion in a number of different languages

Baha'i International Community: Contains statements by the Baha'i International Community United Nations Office.  Acrobat (PDF) reader required.

H-Baha'i: H-Bahai encourages scholarly discussion of the culture and history of The Baha'i Faith and makes available diverse bibliographical, research, and teaching aids." H-Baha'i is a moderated discussion forum and is part of HNet - Arts and Humanities Online.

The Baha'i Faith: A Short Introduction: Contains statements of Baha'i teachings organized by category, based on Moojen Momen's book A Short Introduction to the Baha'i Faith

Orthodox Bahá'í Faith - Bahá'ís Under the Living Guardian: Contains information about Orthodox Baha'i and an extensive list of documents.  Acrobat (PDF) reader required to access documents.

Mother Bahai Council of the US: An extensive list of documents and resources related to Orthodox Baha'i.

Christianity

The Bible Gateway: A search tool allowing the user to search for Bible passages.  Available in multiple languages.

Resources Pages for Biblical Studies: An extensive listing of resources relating to Bible Studies, including Bible texts and translations, online journals, etc.

Christian Coptic Orthodox Church of Egypt: Contains a history of the Christian Coptic Orthodox Church of Egypt, archives of prayers, links to various collections of related material, as well as information on Orthodoxy, Coptology and Christianity.

Maronite Patriarchate: Official site of the Maronite Patriarchate in Lebanon, available in English, French, and Arabic

Syrian Orthodox Resources: Links on various aspects of the Syrian Orthodox Church, with an emphasis on heritage and beliefs

Iranian Christians International: "Iranian Christian International, Inc. (ICI) ministers to the approximately 7 million Iranians and Afghans living outside their countries today. ICI works closely with many mission organizations, university outreach ministries and churches. "  Site contains information about this organization and about how to order various books and audio tapes. There is also information about Iranian Christian conferences and links to Iranian news resources.

Holy Apostolic Catholic Assyrian Church of the East: Official site of the Assyrian Church of the East

The Faith of the Armenian Church: Site contains information about the history of the Armenian Church, the bible in the Armenian church and other issues related to the religion.

Official Site of H.H. Pope Shenouda III: Coptic Pope Shenouda III's official site, containing news, sermons, photos, and other material in English and Arabic. Live lectures are available on Wednesdays at 11:30 a.m. EST.

Guide to Early Church Documents: "This hypertext document contains pointers to Internet accessible files relating to the early church, including canonical documents, creeds, the writings of the Apostolic Fathers and other historical texts relevant to church history."

Islam

Islam 101: Educational site on Islamic faith, practices, and culture from the Sabr Foundation

Al-Islam.org: Ahlul Bayt Digital Islamic Library's website with a wealth of information on Islam and links to outside reference sources

Islamic City: Contains the Qur'an, as well as various surahs.  There are also sound files from Radio Al-Islam and a "Virtual Mosque". RealAudio 5.0 is required to access sound files.

Islamic Server of MSA-USC: Multiple translations of the Qur'an; large collections of Hadith; the essence of Islam (tawheed); Prophet Muhammad; what is NOT Islam; Islam and society; personal stories of new Muslims; glossary of terms, and more from the USC Muslim Students Association. A newer site with fewer resources is here.

Islamic Awareness: Contains resources for the study of the Qur'an and hadith, including textual criticism and historical perspective

Imam Ali Foundation: Official site of the main Najaf clerical establishment led by Grand Ayatollah Ali Sistani, this site contains Sistani's writings, Iraq relief information, an ask the Imam feature, and links

Harvard Islamic Society: Contains information about the Society, links to similar organizations and links to various Islamic resources.

Qur'an Search: An electronic version of The Holy Qur'an, translated by M.H. Shakir and published by Tahrike Tarsile Qur'an, Inc., in 1983

Sunnah and Hadith: Site contains information about and links to resources on these two religious/legal principles.

Islamic Studies, Islam, Arabic and Religion: "This Islamic Studies website covers the areas of Islam, Arabic, and Religion (focusing on Western religions). It is particularly intended to be of use for students and teachers at all levels, as well for members of the general public who wish to get a non-polemical view of Islam (including Sunni Islam, Shi'ism, and Sufism) and to a lesser extent of Judaism and Christianity." This site contains a variety of information and links and is maintained by Alan Godlas, a professor at the University of Georgia.

Musalman - Resources on Islam: A search engine listing materials related to the Islamic world.

Al-Quran Database: Site contains several translations of the Quran (including one in French), as well as the Quran in Arabic. There is also an "Introduction to Islam" and articles about the religion.

The Quran Interpreted by Abdallah Yusuf Ali: Contains a translation of the Quran, as well as the author's interpretation of the text.  There is also a glossary of terms and links to other Quran resources.

Sufism Home Page: "The mission of the Haqqani Foundation in America is to spread the Sufi teachings of the brotherhood of mankind and the Unity of belief in God that is present in all religions and spiritual paths. Its efforts are directed at bringing the diverse spectrum of religions and spiritual paths into harmony and concord, in recognition of mankind's responsibility as caretaker of this fragile planet and of one another." Site contains information about Sufism and Islam.  It is available in several languages.

World Wide Web Virtual Library: Islamic and Middle Eastern Law: Site contains various legal texts ranging for ancient texts to current texts dealing with international law, constitutional law, etc.  Also contains information about rulings, etc.

Judaism

Everything Jewish: Your Jewish Information Source: A comprehensive site with information on Jewish religion, life, heritage, and advocacy

Judaism 101: An online encyclopedia of Judaism, covering Jewish beliefs, people, places, things, language, scripture, holidays, practices and customs, written from from the orthodox perspective from distinguished Pennsylvania librarian Tracey Rich. The Table of Contents divides entries into basic, intermediate, and advanced categories for people looking for different levels of knowledge.

Jewish Virtual Library: A large on-line library of over 8000 articles and 3000 photographs on a wide range of Jewish-related topics, sponsored by the American-Israeli Cooperative Enterprise

Judaism and Jewish Resources: An extensive and well organized list of links to resources related to Judaism.  Contains a wide range of subject headings, a methodology for choosing sites to be listed, a listing for Israeli state agencies online, and an FTP server providing related materials for download.

Jewish Learning Index: "Project Genesis promotes further Jewish education about our Jewish roots, as represented in Jewish sources. Project Genesis believes that this is the best way to restore self-respect, self-confidence, and an interest in our own continuity, among modern Jewish collegiates and unaffiliated Jews worldwide. Project Genesis works to establish a strong Jewish identity, expand Jewish knowledge, and encourage its participants to become more involved with Judaism and the Jewish community."  Site contains essay on issues related to the Jewish religion, as well as information about Torah classes offered by the organization.

Torah.Net: Site dedicated to the Torah, available in French, English, and Hebrew

Judaica Collection: A list of links to resources "of interest to Jews and Judaism."  Among other things, the site contains links related to the Shoah, Jewish heritage, travel to Israel, Jewish student organizations, etc.

Maven: Your Personal Know it All: A web directory of links to Jewish/Israeli resources.

Scrolls From the Dead Sea: The Ancient Library of Qumran and Modern Scholarship: An exhibit of material concerning the Dead Sea Scrolls at the Library of Congress.  Among other information, the site contains images of fragments of the Scrolls and information about these fragments.

Zoroastrianism

Zoroastrianism@net: Site designed to introduce the basics of Zoroastrian beliefs and practices, with a collection of links for those interested in learning more

The Religion of Ahura Mazda Revealed by Zarathustra (Zoroaster): Contains translations of important Zoroastrian scriptures

Zarathustrian Assembly: Contains information about Zoroastrianism in English, Persian, Spanish, and Portugese, including a translation of the Gathas

Traditional Zoroastrianism: Includes a section on Zoroastrianism, a "Zoroastrian novel" and a singles section.
