A new Open Access collection of newspapers from the Middle East and North Africa now available!

A new Open Access collection of newspapers from the Middle East and North Africa is now available to us from Eastview and the Center for Research Libraries. Content in the collection is generally in Arabic language, but also includes some content in English and French. The newspapers cover the period from the late nineteenth century through the mid-twentieth century.

For example, included are the newspapers: Al-Iqbal (الإقبال from Lebanon, in Arabic); Tangier Gazette (from Morocco, in English and French); and La Vérité (from Algeria, in French and Arabic) and others.

You can find more details with a full title list on East View’s website at https://www.eastview.com/resources/gpa/crl-mena/

Note that since UW-Madison is a CRL member we should also receive access to al-Jumhūrīyah (الجمهورية, Egypt), Filasṭīn (فلسطين, Israel), al-Akhbar (الاخبار, Lebanon), al-Riyadh (الرياض, Saudi Arabia), and al-Dustūr (الدستور, Jordan).
