The Tommy G. Thompson Leadership Scholarship application is open to continuing and transfer students in all schools and colleges (not first year freshmen). Student applicants are asked to expound upon their public leadership and how it reflects the legacy of former governor, Tommy R. Thompson. Applications are due here on 10/26/2020 using the Wisconsin Scholarship Hub system (WiSH). Each campus forwards 3 finalists that are then reviewed by a committee one awardee per campus is selected. A scholarship of $2,300 will be awarded to a UW-Madison student for the spring 2021 term.
One of the two recipients for the 2019-2020 academic year was Tierney Hall, a Middle East Studies Certificate student. She states, “I feel fortunate to have had opportunities to develop my own leadership skills while on campus. …real success comes from bringing people of varied talents and backgrounds together to solve a problem for which all are passionate.”
