Come learn more about the full range of opportunities available through the Fulbright US Scholar Program to pursue research, teaching, and professional development interests abroad:

This session is geared to UW-Madison faculty & staff with an interest in developing new or building out existing research, teaching, and professional experience overseas.

We will focus on the Fulbright US Scholar Program (open to US citizens, 2-12 months abroad, 2027-2028 competition scheduled to open on February 4, 2026), the range of offerings available, what’s new for the 2027-2028 awards cycle, how to get started on an application, timelines, campus support, and more!

If you are interested in exploring your Fulbright options but are not able to make our session, please register your interest or book an appointment with Mark Lilleleht, UW-Madison’s Fulbright Coordinator, to discuss the various programs, your specific interests, and which might be best for you.

Fulbright itself will be leading an online launch event later in the month:

Launch of the Fulbright US Scholar Competition 2027-2028
Wednesday, February 25, 2026 1:00-2:00pm CST

Register online

And we will be having a number of campus-wide Fulbright events, including another UW-Madison-specific Fulbright Scholar Program information session as part of Fulbright Week 2026 during the week of March 9-13, 2026.
