ADC wants to make sure you or anyone you know doesn’t miss out on this opportunity for a $5,000 scholarship. The application deadline is coming up soon on Sunday, April 12 — so please submit your application now.
For nearly 30 years, hundreds of Arab American students have benefitted from the Shaheen scholarship, carrying forth the legacy of the late Dr. Jack G. Shaheen to advance the Arab American story in journalism, media, and film and TV. Be part of that legacy by applying today.
Established in 1997, this scholarship has supported hundreds of Arab American students pursuing careers in journalism, film, and media, challenging dominant narratives and uplifting their communities in these fields.
The scholarship honors Dr. Jack G. Shaheen, a pioneering author, lecturer, and media critic whose life’s work challenged racism and Orientalism in Hollywood and popular culture. Dr. Shaheen is best known for his groundbreaking book and documentary, Reel Bad Arabs: How Hollywood Vilifies a People, which exposed decades of harmful stereotyping and called for fair, accurate representation of Arabs and Muslims in the media.
