Christians and Muslims often fought over Jerusalem in the Middle Ages. In the 1230s, though, Christian Franks and Muslim Ayyubids effectively shared the city. In this talk, Professor Michael Lower (University of Minnesota) explores how a prolonged bout of peace-making broke out in an age of crusade and jihad.
