Biography
Noor Hamwy is a Ph.D. student at the University of Wisconsin—Madison, specializing in comparative politics with a focus on the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. Her interests center on understanding authoritarian persistence in MENA, the role of coercive institutions in maintaining patronage networks, and the dynamics of power, including tribal affiliations, religious sects, and gender disparities.
She holds a B.A. from the University of Washington, Seattle, in Economics and Public Health—Global Health, and an MPP in Public Policy from Hamad Bin Khalifa University (Qatar).
