Teaching Forward Fellowship

The Teaching Forward Fellowship connects middle school educators with experts in international studies, educational policy, community leadership, and trauma-informed pedagogy to deepen their teaching practice and student engagement.
Through lesson development and communities of practice, educators foster welcoming learning environments where every student can thrive. This project leverages the existing outreach work of two U.S. Department of Education-designated National Resource Centers, the Institute for Regional and International Studies (IRIS NRC) and the Center for South Asia (CSA), and builds on strong relationships between project directors and educators across the state as well as longstanding collaborations with UW-Madison Libraries, the WI Department of Public Instruction, the WI Council for the Social Studies, and the WI Association for Foreign Language Teachers.
Teachers will receive monthly PD sessions, $1,000 stipend, book bundles and instructional materials, and more.
This project is supported by a grant from the Reilly-Baldwin Wisconsin Idea Endowment.
